The open gum nut design was inspired by Snugglepot and Cuddlepie – a favourite from both our childhoods. As well as the the ‘joy’ of finding the washing machine full of gum nuts! Our property is populated with lots of different gum tree varieties and our kids love collecting the different seed pods, but then leave them stuffed into their pockets 🙂

This narrow version has twice as many bars (16), which all come together at the top to form the beautiful gum nut shape. The unique shape is created by bending each steel rod twice. It has gone to the top of Roger’s list as his favourite feeder design yet. They take a lot more work but we think the outcome is worth it 🙂

Each feeder has a beautiful rusty patina that will continue to grow over time. Made from 100% Australian steel that will last a lifetime.

Includes a removable 21cm terracotta dish.

You can also use the feeders as plant holders.

Not sure how to hang it? You can pair it with an S hook or Wall mount so that it will be easy to hang from a sturdy tree branch, wall or post.

    Dimensions: 375mm (w) x 450mm (h – including ring)

    Shipping & Handling: Included.

Please note: all our pieces are hand crafted and rusted via the natural elements and therefore unique. Because of this there will be slight variations in size/colour from those listed or shown.

This is the second bird feeder I have purchased from Ironworx. This one was for a friend, and like me she absolutely loves it. And so do the birds. And to top things off, the service and deli ery was excellent.

Looks good. Locks out the pigeons but not natives.

Service prompt and feeder was sent same day as ordered. We were very happy with the product once it arrived and would definitely recommend buying from these artisans. Given as gift to family member who was very happy upon receipt of the bird feeder and had it up within days.

We were worried that the bigger parrots (Kings eg) wouldn’t be able to fit through the bars, but they have figured it out. We now have a constant and varied round of visitors to the feeder, which looks lovely and is sturdy and well-made. Recommended!

Love the design and was really hoping the pigeons couldn’t get in. It’s difficult for pigeons to perch because the dish is inside the frame however the really persistent pigeons do manage to squeeze through. Lorikeets and Rosella’s love hanging upside down from the frame and feeding from the dish.

This is the 2nd feeder I have purchased. They are perfect for the parrots and smaller birds that visit my garden in Goulburn, and they look great. Postage was quick and well packaged.

Just absolutely love the bird feeder, exactly as described and the cockatoo’s are loosing interest with the narrow gaps.
